This Privacy Policy explains how Lakebend Software LLC (“Lakebend Software”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal information when you visit lakebendsoftware.com (the “Website”) or contact us. We keep data collection to a minimum.
1. Information we collect
Information you send us
When you email us, or use the contact form or the “Email us this estimate” button, your own email app sends us a message. We receive whatever you choose to include, such as your name, email address, company, project details and any attachments. The Website itself does not store these messages.
Cost estimator
The cost estimator runs entirely in your browser. Your selections are not sent to us unless you choose to email them.
Technical information
Our hosting and content-delivery provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of each request. This is needed to deliver the Website, protect it against abuse and produce aggregate traffic statistics.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Your light or dark theme preference is saved in your browser's local storage and is never sent to us. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies, for example to filter malicious traffic.
2. How we use information

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to inquiries and running our business, on steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract, and on legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with:
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as hosting, email and accounting providers, under confidentiality obligations
- Authorities or other parties when required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others
- A successor organization in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy
4. How long we keep information
We keep inquiry emails for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and generally no longer than three years after our last contact. Client records and invoices are kept as long as required for accounting, tax and legal purposes.
5. Security
The Website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and we limit access to personal information to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, to delete and to correct personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email hello@lakebendsoftware.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Client project data
When we build or support software for a client, any personal information inside that client's systems is handled according to our agreement with the client and the client's instructions. This policy covers the Website and our direct communications with you.
8. International transfers
We are based in New Mexico, United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
9. Children
The Website is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
